The gated community of Landfall consists of approximately 2200 acres of lakes, ponds, conservation areas, walking paths, nature trails, fitness clubs, restaurants, tennis courts, and golf courses. Designed to preserve and enhance the natural character of the land, there are two championship golf courses that take advantage of Landfall’s abundant saltwater and freshwater marshes as well as panoramic views of Howe’s Creek and the Intracoastal Waterway.

Over 1400 families call the gated community of Landfall home, with many more homesites still available. Landfall is home to many indivual neighborhoods, most of which have their own HOA’s (Home Owner Associations). Bay Colony is one of such neighborhoods where our new four bedroom three and one half bath listing at 2019 Bay Colony Lane is located.

Looking to buy a home.....want to hire an agent who does it right.... Choose an agent in Wilmington NC who does it right.

Here in North Carolina we are so familiar with the “blank stare.” What is that you say….well if you are a consumer…be aware….any time you look at a home in North Carolina the showing agent should be giving you a copy of the “Working with Agents Brochure.” What? You mean they didn’t give it to you when they met you at a property or met you in their office before putting you in their car…..well they are breaking the law….. they should be handing you the brochure, explaining it to you and asking you to sign it….No…its not a contract….it is merely a disclosure of how agents work in NC and how they can represent you. They can work for the seller, the buyer or both…you choose. Today….I experienced the “blank stare” once again… It is amazing how many agents do not give out this brochure when they first meet a client. Keep this in mind when choosing an agent to represent you. They should be following the law. Keep your eye out for the “Working with Agents Brochure.”…..you’ll then know you have the right agent. If you want to see what you missed click here…..and oh, by the way…the Beals Team follows the rules and will always give you a “Working with Agents Brochure.” Call us today if you are a consumer or refer your clients to us if you are an agent….We work for you , we do it right….and we work hard to decrease the “Blank Stare.”

I had the great experience this weekend to go to the Louise Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington NC.
http://www.cameronartmuseum.com/exhibitions.php#37.

I had the great experience this weekend to go to the Louise Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington NC and see the African American quilting Exhibit entitled From Heart to Hand….. Click Here The museum is located on the corner of 17th Street and Independence Boulevard. I have been dabbling in quilting and this exhibit sparked my interest for a number of reasons. There are about 48 quilts in this exhibit. They were created by African-American women from Western Alabama between 1945 and 2001. More were added in 2008.I am providing the link for you to view as I was not allowed to take photo graphs. Please visit this link to get some visuals. You can see 3 themes as you walk among the quilts from room to room. While I like the traditional quilting theme sof well known patterns, e.g. log cabins, stars the most impressive were the picture quilts. They tell a story whether it be about Humpty Dumpty, Noah’s Ark or Rosa Parks school bus stand. Each quilt has a printed narrative for you to read. It would have been great if there could be an audio at each quilt display. I would have liked to hear more. My plan for this exhibit is to meet with a second grade classroom to discuss the art of the quilts and to integrate this art form into either social studies, language arts or math…..there are so many ways to do this. I was so impressed by this exhibit. Each quilt was hand sewn, some had symetry, some had style, some had embellishments. I was most impressed by the one made of ties….now I know what to do the Duh hubby’s ties he never wears. Each quilt told a story or made you think about why they created it….for warmth, to commorate a loved one…or just to express a point of view or celebrate a happening. Quilting is fun….we should all try it. Don’t miss out out the From Heart to Hand African American Quilting Exhibit in Wilmington, NC

Is Spring around the corner?…..the myth of the Robin says when you see a Robin it is the beginning of Spring…Well today is January 25th and we saw a Robin….not just a Robin but a flock…. is it Spring??….I don’t think so, but I would sure like to close my eyes, click my “ruby slippesr” and hope so…. We are not in Kansas Dorothy or Miami….. its is rainy, raw and in the 40′s….in Wilmington NC no less. Needless to say, I am forever an optimist and say Spring is around the corner. Dick says February 14th it starts…we’ll see.

Of course this is the one time my camera was at home….so the smart phone had to pitch hint….so the photos aren’t the best…..but look closely and you will see our NC ROBINS.
I did do some research and for those of you who are birdwatchers…..(you may already know this)….In the Winter Months Robins feed in flocks …that is exactly what we saw today….masses of Robins…although getting a photo was not possible…..so we were sneaky and just got a few who were about 10 to 15 feet away from the flock…..

In the Winter Robins:

•Eat fruit
•Fly in flocks
•Get along peacefully
I know its not Spring yet……(bummer) because the Robins show signs of:

•Eating worms (there frozen right now)
•Singing (not in the rain)
•Territorial battles
•Carrying nesting materials (who wants to nest in the cold)
•Running on Lawns (green lawns that is….our our brown)
